Composition:
Each film coated prolonged release tablet contains:
Metoprolol Succinate IP 23.75mg
Eq to Metoprolol Tartrate 25mg
Colour: Titanium Dioxide IP
Mechanism:
Metoprolol is a cardioselective beta-1-adrenergic receptor inhibitor that competitively blocks beta1-receptors with minimal or no effects on beta-2 receptors at oral doses of less than 100 mg in adults. It decreases cardiac output by negative inotropic and chronotropic effects.
Indication:
For the treatment of essential hypertension in adults.
Additional indication; i)-functional heart disorders, ii)-migraine prophylaxis, iii)-cardiac arrhythmias, iv)-prevention of cardiac death and reinfarction after the acute phase of myocardial infarction v)-stable symptomatic CHF
Dosage:
One tablet 1-2 times a day or to be taken in a dose and duration as directed by the Physician.
